GiffGaff make up for their recent outage
@Lindsay_Brunt @DcJacklyn @EE @O2 @vmbusiness @tescomobile @giffgaff @VodafoneUK I would AVOID Tesco - you get not data, no signal and appauling customer service! go with another network who cares for their customers!
Will is a perfect example of a member that uses his talents and passions to make giffgaff work for him, and help us offer more to our members at the same time. So, of course, he was top of our minds when we thought about bringing members to tech events with us, and giving them a better insight into the behind the scenes of the tech world.
Will is eager to join us on our journey over the next few years, developing giffgaff and doing even more with members. Especially as we begin to open our doors to more members (literally), and invite them in to giffgaff HQ on a regular basis. He is super excited at these new opportunities, and had some great feedback from members who have visited the gaff recently.
Giffgaff uses the O2 network and therefore O2's international franchise partners. So actually getting a signal and setting up roaming is no more of an issue with giffgaff than it is on any other network. In terms of credits, however, you will incur charges for international calls, texts and data usage that will be over and above the standard giffgaff goodybag payment system. So, make sure to top up your credits when you plan to travel.
It is crucial to get in touch with Giffgaff if you are a client and have encountered an outage in order to report the problem and receive assistance. For updates on known outages in your area, visit their website. For the inconvenience, Giffgaff has occasionally given some customers credits and other forms of payment.
The most recent Giffgaff outage reports came from the following cities:London, Lancaster, Reading, Wellingborough, Hebburn, Plymouth, Manchester, Withernsea, Thetford, Salford, City of Westminster, Stevenage, Portadown, Gravesend and Worthing.

The team at GiffGaff has released another update for its customers. The statement read: The technical team are still working to resolve the issue with 2G, 3G & 4G calls, texts & data across the UK, we did see a significant increase in website traffic across giffgaff.com and as such we temporarily moved our website over to our outage server.
Several users are reporting a new issue where the fingerprint sensor stops working if the phone battery runs out. Both the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are reportedly plagued by the issue. Various Redditors have mentioned that they tried to contact Google and the solution they received was not really a solution. The company representatives are allegedly telling users to factory reset their smartphones to make the fingerprint sensor work again after charging and powering on the device.
No network can cover their locations entirely, as 5G is still only on a street by street basis. giffgaff are usually better covering their declared locations, as well as having 5G live in more locations.
I'm hoping to get a replacement O2 SIM, however given it works fine in the Samsung S5 handset I'm not convinced it'll make a difference. I'm fairly confident that the issue is with the Samsung S21 and the November update so if the SIM makes no difference I'll need to get a new handset (sorry, but it probably won't be another Samsung if this is an example of their QC for updates).
In the start-up team were Robbie Hearn and Vincent Boon, the future founders of Standing on Giants. It was their experience at giffgaff, putting a community of customers at the heart of the business, that opened their eyes to the incredible value a community could drive.
Asda Mobile have now started disconnecting PAYG SIMs if you have not made a top up in the last 100 days. We have had two services disconnected recently even though we had ensured chargeable calls/texts were made every 180 days. They claim the top up every 100 days requirement is stated in their terms, however we cannot find any mention of it in their current terms we have downloaded from their website or the copy we had when we were transferred to Vodafone from EE by them.In both cases we have not received any text messages or emails from Asda saying the services we going to be disconnected as we had not topped up as the now seem to require. First we knew was both services just simply cut off without warning. We have been with Asda for years with these light usage services without any problems. Since they moved to Vodafone we have had several problems with them & trying to get things resolved is an up hill battle every time. Their customer service, handled by Vodafone, is appalling, the agents just read from a standard script and you can never get hold of any managers to resolve the complaint. No one every calls you back as they promise. All very sad for what used to be a great company, shame on Vodafone. Looks like we will be off to OFCOM with this one to get our numbers back.
Measurability and accountability are essential for Purpose to truly make an impact, so we are also working with giffgaff to set targets against each of the defined Purpose pillars. This provides the business with specific goals to work towards to ensure they make this positive impact. 2ff7e9595c
